Lilies

I've always loved lilies - all kinds of lilies but water-lilies have seemed to be very special. They are quite ethereal in my opinion. I've seen ponds of them as I've driven north to various cottages to visit family and friends. White, yellow, pink. Covering inky surfaces with bright spots of light and colour.

And now I have them in my own wee backyard pond. Here this large green frog is using a bud as support for its sunbathing. Below the bud has burst open and greets each day with its lovely floating pink flower.

One of nature's many wonders.
It almost looks as if it's not quite real, the petals are so perfectly formed. I wonder if there will be more this summer?
