And then the dogwood - normally brilliant red is dressed in ice... such a feathery, mysterious look.
I often thought it would be lovely to take as an ornament for outside the front door, but couldn't bear to cut it.
And another ice swathed bluebird house. My friend Keith who installed 13 of these for me on the two acres, showed me how to clean them out each year so the birds would return. They were always full, if not with bluebirds, though there usually was at least one nest box full of them, but also tree swallows.
And then suddenly it will be spring. Hope these images reminded you of how beautiful winter can be, despite the high winds we have had recently and the rain, snow, drizzle, melt and kind highway crews that clean the roads for us to travel on so we can see some of these sights.
Hope it is a sunny day when you are reading but also that you can enjoy some beautiful images outside, be they of winter, coming spring, or any time of year that gives you joy and happiness.
