Summer images

One of many different day lilies
Summer is full of bounty, usually. This summer has been cool, wet, grey and by and large difficult for many people including many farmers who have been not getting enough sun, or getting too much, or dealing with fires, floods and other assorted disaster makers including pesticides that kill bees who fertilize our apples, and other fruit as well as flowers and much more other vegetation.

Nonetheless, there has been beauty and bounty and fun as well. So here are a few images from around and about Ontario.

Some from my garden, some from various cottages, and lakes, and some from friends or family. Hope you enjoy them.
Cucumber flowers - never produced fruit, nor did the squash or pumpkins, but the flowers are pretty and the Creeping Charlie is certainly lush... everywhere in my lawn and this garden apparently.
One batch of many geraniums o my deck. Lush and vibrant.
One of many self-seeded sunflowers that are now being devoured by goldfinches which hang upside down and peck out the tiny seeds.

The view from the top of the hill to the east of where I live with the dogs and cats. You can see the line of submerged vegetation that was once the longest railroad bridge across a lake in the world, built in 1853. Its remains are a danger for fast moving boats on Rice Lake, but anglers fish often near by You can see islands and points towards the south west end of the lake.
Island in Bruce Lake in Muskoka, lit by sun with a storm moving in behind... the sky was quite black that afternoon - but beautiful.

Thunder Beach taken by my son with Christian and Beckwith islands in the background - Georgian Bay Ontario.
Sandy Bay - Bliss (yellow) and Spirit swim for sticks on a very hot still day at the family  cottage.

And now it's September and we're getting summer weather...climate change? Oh yah!
