She told me that she first saw the bird on the ground - probably it had some prey that was breakfast. However, as the hawks seem to do when I slow down and try to capture their image - this one took off.
It is a wonderful picture of what her part of Ontario looks like though - with the windswept snow and the pines in the background. She lives closer to Lake Ontario than I do, but we see similar landscapes with the added and unexpected bonus of seeing a hawk or similar wildlife gift. It's sunny and cool here today - hope that there is some sun in your life today of a special gift of some sort wherever you are.
